Learning Studio
A complete learning system inside the platform: courses to learn from and to teach with. A team of ten agents drafts, examines, tutors and keeps courses current - and people decide what is published and what grade is given.
What it is for
- A team of ten
- A lead, an architect, a writer, an examiner, a tutor, a grader, a role-player, an analyst, a librarian and an advisor - each an agent with one job, visible and replaceable.
- Eleven kinds of lesson
- Pages, video, quizzes, documents, links, confirmations recorded word for word, assignments judged on a rubric, cards that come back before they fade, role-play, on-the-job checklists, and whole courses as steps.
- People give the grade
- The grader drafts; a person decides. A checklist is ticked by the learner and signed by whoever they answer to.
- Given, due, and in the cartable
- Give a course to a person, a department, a group or everyone, with a date. It arrives in their cartable and leaves when they finish - and whoever joins the department later gets it too.
- Skills and who lacks what
- Courses give skills. A head sees which skills their people have, which are missing, and gives the course that closes the gap.
- Courses that stay true
- When the source a course was written from changes, the librarian proposes the update and the people who already finished are told what changed.
- A tutor beside every lesson
- Learners ask in the lesson and get an answer from the course itself. Their notes and questions stay with them.
- It teaches the platform too
- Courses on Divan's own apps are written from its help - so a new joiner learns the tools the same way they learn the policy.
Getting started
- Open Learning Studio. Learn shows the courses given to you and the catalogue.
- To teach, open Teach and describe a course: who it is for and what they should be able to do after it.
- Read the outline, let the team write, check each lesson and publish.
Tasks
Give a course to a department
- Open People in Learning Studio.
- Choose the course, the department and a date.
- Each person finds it in their cartable; you see who started, who finished and who is late.
Close a skill gap
- Open People, then Skills.
- Pick the skill people are short of.
- Give them the course that gives it.
Grade handed-in work
- Open the item from your cartable: it opens the piece itself.
- Read the grader's draft against the rubric.
- Change what you disagree with and give the grade.
Keep a certificate
- Finish the course.
- Open your record.
- The certificate is kept there, and prints on paper.
Questions
Do the agents publish on their own?
No. They draft and propose. A person publishes a course, and a person gives every grade that counts.
Can we bring our own material?
Yes. Attach documents and the team writes from them; a document or a video can also be a lesson by itself.
What does a learner's manager see?
Progress and results for the courses given to their people - not their private notes.
